Innovation with Robotics and allied

We experiment and find intelligent system technologies in the field of information processing, chip design, robotics, medical electronics and mechatronics which can perform intellectual activities and physical operations. We are conducting research and development of basic principles, elemental technologies, and system architecture in the field of robotics and allied. The targets of our research include applications for domestic, safety technologies for life-support robots in industry, life-support robot technologies for disaster management, robot technologies for manufacturing industries, energy efficient systems and others

The innovations with new technologies are carefully examined to ensure that they have no adverse effects on society. We design life support robots into the home to provide nursing care and welfare by maintaining the robot safety standards and safety certification technologies. In addition, through our outreach programs we educate and train students and engineers in this field of embedded systems and VLSI with developing technologies ,automated software testing and model checking.

Innovation with Nanoelectronics & integration – VLSI and Embedded System


We aim to develop nano-device and integrated-circuits for the realization of low-power-consumption, high-speed, and multifunctional devices. We design processors and smart chips for biomedical, automotive, communication, networking entertainment etc. We innovate and design new electronic devices to replace CMOS, high-speed and low-power nonvolatile memories to replace DRAMs and circuit designs using electrical, magnetic, and optical interaction to replace the existing systems. We design circuits for "light-weight" embedded system architectures.


The VLSI team of IRRD is developing a multi-core architecture for embedded systems with the features of parallel programmable architecture, low power and dynamic behavior, which can adapt to any application’s workload and in any utilization environment. The architecture is been extended to have new findings in the area of Neuro-inspired computers.

Innovation with Signal / Image and Video processing

We aim to discover the natures laws and apply them in the field of signal, image and video processing. The nature has shown us its written laws through Bio-Inspired computing, swarm intelligence, stigmergic optimization, flocking, colonization, etc.


We design and test algorithm for the application like Recognition system, Home Automation, Security systems, Biomedical signal and Image analysis, Data Processing, 3D analysis, Fuzzy system, Neural systems, computer vision ..etc.
